Key Detail
Andrej Krautsau, aka Key Detail, is a Belarusian-born muralist and illustrator renowned for his vibrant, surrealist public artworks that blend architectural precision with fantastical storytelling. Originally from Minsk, Belarus, Krautsau earned a Bachelor of Architecture from the Belarusian National Technical University and worked in architecture for eight years before transitioning to full-time art. He now resides in New York City with his wife and artistic collaborator, Julia Yu-Baba.
Since the early 2000s, Key Detail has been active in the street art scene, creating over 50 murals across Europe, Asia, and the United States. His work is characterized by intricate detail, bold color palettes, and a fusion of cultural symbolism and fantasy.
Key Detail’s “Starborn Beast” encompasses an entire three car structure(two Ford Wagons and and ‘54 Cadillac). The piece took him four straight 12-hour days of painting to complete. Nearly every inch of all three cars are covered in spray paint, even the roof of the top car. Key Detail has created murals all over the world and, although his subject matter varies wildly, his style is unmistakable and we are honored to have it on full display here.
